About Michele Leasure

Combining osteopathic expertise with exceptional intuitive assessment skills

A Journey Rooted in Healing

My path began with a kinesiology degree from the University of Maryland, followed by my Master of Physical Therapy at Emory University, where I was mentored by an osteopathic clinician who "cured all my injuries with just his hands." This transformative experience shaped my entire approach to healing.

With over 30 years in practice, I’ve built my career around helping people recover from orthopedic injuries and spine conditions. My first seven years were spent in a rehabilitation hospital, treating head injuries, strokes, and complex orthopedic cases, eventually serving as director of the outpatient clinic. In 2002, I was honored to serve as the official physical therapist for the U.S. team at the World Equestrian Games.

Before settling in North Salem in 2004, I launched a traveling office that brought professional treatment directly to horse show grounds across the U.S. and Canada. Competing myself, I saw that riders and others involved in the shows had little time to seek care if injured. By setting up on-site, I was able to provide immediate treatment and injury-prevention programs to some of the top equestrians in the world.

Patients often tell me they value my ability to detect and correct even the most subtle movement dysfunctions—helping them heal, prevent injury, and perform at their best.

Rather than masking symptoms, I identify and address underlying issues including postural dysfunction, movement compensations, and myofascial restrictions.

I employ hands-on techniques emphasizing myofascial release, joint mobilizations, and soft-tissue manipulation to restore optimal tissue health and mobility.
